A Midsummer Proms Concert

New Warwickshire choir for children with additional educational needs to hold Summer Proms concert with singers from world famous Longborough Festival Opera

A new 40 strong choir drawn from two Warwickshire schools – Anima Voices – is to hold its inaugural concert at Stratford-on-Avon School on Friday 28 June 2019.

The choir is a collaboration between Welcombe Hills School (Stratford-upon-Avon) and Exhall Grange Specialist School (near Coventry) with professional singers from the internationally renowned Cotswold-based Longborough Festival Opera.

The singers will be accompanied by the 28-strong Shirley Band from Solihull, one of the region’s best brass bands.

The Midsummer Proms concert will feature a wide range of popular music, including Zadok the Priest, Torreador and Proms favourite, Land of Hope and Glory.

Alan Smith, the choir’s founder said: “We’re hugely excited to be performing our first ever concert, especially alongside our guests from Longborough Festival Opera, and the Shirley Brass Band.  The concert will be fantastic fun and a showcase for the musical talent contained within our schools. Remember to bring your flags and voices for a night of light music and fun.”

Tickets for the Midsummer Proms concert can be obtained from Welcombe Hills School on 01789 266845 and are priced £5.00 adults or £3.00 children. Doors open at 6.30pm and the concert at Stratford upon Avon School (Alcester Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV37 9DH) starts at 7pm.
