National Grid Work Inspiration Week
Two students Sam and Josh visited Work Inspiration week at National Grid. They attended with their peers from Round Oak, Warwickshire College and Hereward College.
' I was lucky enough to do Work Experience at the National Grid. The National Grid is based in Warwick but also has several other sites across the UK. The National Grid look after all the electricity and gas in the country. The company is very important because they provide heat and electricity. Working at the National Grid was fun because I got to work with different students and staff. We would work from 10am to 14:00pm Monday to Friday. This took place during February 2018. I really enjoyed the tour of the Leicester Refurb Centre where I saw a giant turbine!'
Sam Kilpatrick - March 2018
My Work Experience this year was at National Grid. The National Grid is based at the Technology Park in Warwick. The company is extremely important because they look after the gas and electricity across the UK. The National Grid looks after the general public by providing heating for houses and business. The things I liked were meeting new people because it helped me socialise with other student and staff members, I also enjoyed working with National Grid staff. My working day started from 10am - 14.30pm, Monday - Friday. I had experience in a working atmosphere and liked being part of the National Grid team. My Work Experience took place between 12th - 16th February 2018.

RSC Backstage Pass Work Week
Two students from the 6th Form participated in a week long placement at The RSC in January, working the Scenic Arts and Front of House Departments.
' I worked at The RSC in Stratford upon Avon. The RSC is a theatre company, its very important because its a historical landmark and part of Stratford and William Shakespeare's history. I worked from 10:00am until 18:00 Monday to Friday. I worked in the Scenic Arts Department where I learned to use lots of new and different equipment, my favourite part was using the spray paint gun!'
Ryan Winters - March 2018
During my time at the RSC I worked in the Front of House department. I had to show the audience to their seats during the performance of Twelfth Night. I had to communicate to other staff using codes, we spoke through head sets which was a new experience. I was in charge of making sure the audience were safe. I enjoyed meeting the staff from the RSC and being able to watch the performance. My favourite part of the week was meeting the actors, the whole experience was very interesting.
