The Colour Blast

We worked with the Shakespeare Hospice on an event they held called 'Colour Blast' in September 2016.  It was a 5km run and runners had bags of powder paint thrown at them throughout the run.

We were given a large box of purple powder paint.  We worked in pairs  and had to put the correct amount of powder in each bag.  We worn special plastic ponchos but still ended by purple!!

'It was fun and I'm looking forward to volunteering on Sunday and throwing the bags'.  Ryan.

I liked sorting the paints because the colours were  very   bright.'  Ellie

'We were putting powder paint in the bags and I enjoyed helping this local charity'  Kirsty

The Butty Bar
Willow 1 are working as a team on a Mini Enterprise called The Butty Bar.

“I think the Butty Bar is a great activity for us.  We take it in turns to do different jobs each week for the Butty Bar” said Ryan.

Ryan likes preparing the lettuce, Kate also likes this job.  Ellis and Callum enjoy taking the money.  Tia and Kirsty like serving the hot dogs.

We use the profit from the Butty Bar to go on class trips, buy items for the classroom like the George Foreman Grill.

This activity helps us communicate with members of staff, be responsible, think about hygiene and work together as a team.
