Volunteering

We welcome volunteer help throughout the school!

Volunteers in our school bring with them a range of skills and experience that can enhance the learning opportunities of children at the school.

We invite all potential volunteers to complete an application form and to join us for a taster session, so they can decide for themselves how they could best support us.

This could be helping with a creative production within the arts department; supporting physical activities such as swimming or horse riding or an extra pair of hands on a school trip.

Our school also accepts as volunteers those participating in teaching placements, work experience, and students enrolled in other related courses.

Our volunteers include;

  • Members of the governing body
  • Parents of pupils
  • Students on work experience placement
  • Local residents
  • And friends of the school

All volunteers must have a Disclosure and Barring check (DBS) and we do contact the referees given on the application form, to ensure suitability to work with our students. You will also receive a full Health & Safety induction before you start with us.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the school, would you please complete the application form and return it to Nicky Morle at the school and she will arrange a taster session with you.

Welcombe Hills Riding for the Disabled (RDA) group.

Welcombe Hills School Riding for the Disabled (RDA) provides disabled children between the ages of 7 and 11 with the means and opportunity to ride at the level of their ability, choice and ambition.

It allows children with disabilities to appreciate the environment, in which they live, learn to care for animals and take part in an activity they could not undertake independently.

For the major part of the year, children from Key Stage 2 ride on Friday mornings during term time, accompanied by school staff and several volunteers, stopping only when prevented by the weather.

All the children at this 2-19 years school, as they reach Key Stage 2, have an opportunity to ride at the RDA registered stables at Ettington near Stratford on Avon.

We need a lot of staff to take our students riding and we rely on parents and volunteers to help us.

Helpers can either come to the school and travel with us to the stables, returning to school in time for lunch at 12.00 noon, or they make their own way for 10.30 leaving when we do.

We ride at Rookery Team Stables, Rookery Farm, Ettington CV37 7TN

If you would like to help us please complete the application form and return it to Nicky Morle at the school either by post or email morle.n@welearn365.com .
