In September 2009, Welcombe Hills School became a Specialist College for Visual and Performing Arts.
This Specialist Status provides additional funding for us to offer to our pupils, alongside the normal curriculum, a huge number of creative visual, media and performance opportunities.
Central to Welcombe Hills philosophy is to challenge current perceptions and engage the whole community, parents and students in the process of life long learning.
We work collaborately with artists and creative professionals to bring learning to life through the use of film, photography, digital imagery and visual and performing creative art events.
We provide high quality, inclusive, personalized learning for every pupil. Our creative curriculum is flexible, integrated and innovate, delivered by networks of collaborative providers committed to achieving ambitious new goals for our young learners.
ICT is central to the school achieving its aims. Technology is used to raise the standards of teaching and learning and engage and stimulate all learners . Access to ICT is available anywhere in school. Ultimately it will go beyond, with a network and high quality learning platform that will allow learning not just to take place anytime/anywhere for pupils, but also to widen opportunity for parental and community involvement in learning.
