In 2012, 5 members of the Project Gambia team travelled inland to Sintet, a small farming community situated on the border of The Gambia and Senegal. The villagers told us that they were struggling to survive as they were the unable to farm the land. They faced two main problems:
During the rainy season they have the water needed to grow crops, but have no fence to keep the animals from eating them. In the dry season there is no water available to for irrigation and so crops are unable to be grown.
