States of Matter is the theme for science this term!

KS3 will  be focussing on Scientific Enquiry; asking questions, carrying out investigations and recording evidence.

Changing states

Last term KS3 studied Forces and magnets in Science. Last week we visited 'The Mad (Mechanical Art and design) Museum' in Stratford which helped to consolidate our learning. It was fascinating!

In Autumn term KS3  studied Evolution , Ash class looked at  the origins of all living things. Some groups have looked at fossils and found out that they are a record of events from long ago on our planet. Ash class has also studied  'Inheritance' and observed how animals and humans inherit characteristics from their parents. Some students made 'super animals' which were uniquely adapted to their environment. We have an exciting trip planned this term to look at Dinosaurs at the Thinktank in Birmingham.

Ash enjoyed a really interesting visit from a Geologist! They were super attentive and Dr Dale even remarked on how well they answered questions about rocks and rock types.
