 Green Day - Friday 23rd September 2011

Friday 23rd September was our first ever 'Green Day'.

All pupils were off timetable and were asked to wear green clothes instead of their school uniform.

The emphasis was on how to care for the environment and activities included Willow sculpting, making bug hotels, making bird boxes, earwig homes and music from recycled tins.

We had a guest speaker from 'Lifeways' and a compost man who talked about alternative energy supplies.

It was a very fun and creative day!!

Christmas Fayre

Tuesday 29th November 2011

The christmas fayre was a great success! Thank you very much for the generosity of everyone - there were plenty of donations to the different stalls.

We raised a wonderful £843.00 in total!  In addition to this we raised £212.00 for the Air Ambulance and £49.00 for Operation Christmas Child.  A donation was made to the Redwings Horse Sanctuary and Riding for the disabled and the remainder of the money will benefit the pupils at school.

Thank you to everyone who donated items and for coming along to the fayre!

The Norton Lindsey Stilton Sniffers

The Total Communication Team were delighted to receive avery generous donation from the 'Stilton Sniffers' who are a local charitable group. Their donation of £1500 will provide the school with 3 Ipads plus software to enable some of our non-verbal pupils easier access to programmes which offer them an alternative way of communicating other than speech.

The Sniffers visited the school and were given a demonstration of alternative forms of communication which they agreed was very informative and interesting.

Our grateful thanks go to Hugh, Gordon and Ian and the rest of the Stilton Sniffers for their continued support.
