Maple Class are working hard this term and the pupils have produced some lovely work in all subject areas.  We have been practising using dictionaries as part of our English work and all pupils are making good progress. We have also been studying the text 'Private peaceful' by Michael Morpurgo, which fits in with our history work on WW1. As part of this work we are visiting St. John's museum in Warwick for a special WW1 day. Also in history we have been watching the BBC series 'Back in Time for School' which has provoked some really interesting discussions on life at school during the different decades. In geography we have been looking at weather and climate and we are now going on to do some map work. in maths we are continuig with our Entry Level work and have been getting to grips with percentages, fractions, column addition and subtraction. P.E. this term has been enjoyed by everyone - we have been practising netball and basketball and had a fantastic netball day at Myton school where we nearly won! smiley We have a basketball day in Coventry coming up and we have high hopes! Other subjects include Spanish (food!) and  R.E. where we are looking at the Coventry Cathedral Peace and Reconciliation work. Work skills / experience continues and all pupils continue to enjoy art, music and drama.
Maple class have had a busy start to the year and have been working hard in all our subjects. As well as Entry level English and maths work we have been looking at pollution and the environment in science and have been doing a project on work in PHSE. We have had Mel Mills in to talk to us about different post 16 options and will hopefully be visiting some different colleges. In P.E. we have been playing rounders and boccia and also going to the gym. We helped organise a very successful coffee morning for the Macmillan charity with Oak class and we raised over £300! We are also collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child this term and we are all  involved in the We Will Rock You production.  Looking forward to a busy and successful term!
Maple class have had a busy start to the summer term and have been working hard. We are continuing to practise English and maths skills on a daily basis and have been working on using all these skills in real-life situations. We have visited the 6th form hub on several occasions and have continued to make sandwiches on a weekly basis as part of our mini-enterprise scheme.  In our computing sessions we are working on e-safety and in PSHE lessons we have been looking at friendships and how we can work together as a team. We have also started exploring the world of work and have been looking at the different skills we need for the workplace. We have had the Living Eggs chicks in class and we watched them hatch - this also tied in nicely with our science work on life cycles and living things. All the pupils in Maple class enjoy our P.E sessions and at the moment we are practising hard for sports day!

Maple class have been working on "Myths and Legends" in Entry level English -which has included reading the book "Room 13" and visits to Kenilworth Castle and Harry Potter Studio's where pupils could set the scene and role play their own stories.
